Dr. Kozel joined the CCVS team in 2019 as a member of our Emergency & Critical Care Associate team! She grew up in Rhode Island and completed a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience at Brandeis before going on to achieve her Masters in Reproductive Physiology at the University of Rhode Island. Dr. Kozel then went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Kansas State University in 2015. After graduation, she completed a small animal medicine rotating internship at Angell Animal Medical Center. Dr. Kozel joins our team with a solid background in emergency medicine. Before joining CCVS in 2019, she spent three years as an ECC Associate at Alpine Animal Hospital in Washington state. She is especially interested in endoscopy for foreign body retrieval and completed a 4-day course on the procedure in 2017. Outside of the ICU, Dr. Kozel enjoys hiking, traveling, going to the beach, and spending time with her pit bull mix Orca and her cat Torch.
