Pet Insurance

LOCATIONS

When our pets get sick or injured and need emergency or specialty care, the costs can add up quickly and be difficult to manage. During a visit to a specialty veterinary hospital, you may notice your bill is higher than your primary care veterinarian. This is because we offer 24/7 care with highly-skilled, specialized staff, and advanced equipment and treatments.

We know how scary and unexpected emergency vet visits can be, so we work hard to offer financial assistance to our clients through several avenues, including Care Credit and The Sampson Fund. However, enrolling your pet into a pet insurance policy is the best way to protect them and you. Pet insurance will allow you to rest easy knowing that you are covered in the event of an emergency. This will ensure that financial constraints do not get in the way of getting the most advanced care for your pet, helping them get better faster.

How Does Pet Insurance Work?

Like insurance for humans, deductibles, copayments, premiums, and coverage can vary widely between the different pet insurance policies and companies. The biggest difference between pet insurance and human insurance is that you typically have to pay your veterinary bill in full and wait for the insurance company to reimburse you. However, some pet insurance companies will now pay the veterinary hospital directly, which decreases your upfront, out-of-pocket costs.

There are a lot of pet insurance providers to choose from and we encourage you to research them to choose the provider that best meets the specific needs of you and your family. Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists accepts all forms of pet insurance.
